Join The Team

#OneTeam

The call of Christ is a call to service. Join a team and equip families and individuals for the year ahead. It's not just a festival, it's a celebration.

As #oneteam we work together which means arriving on Wednesday and leaving late Monday when the site is packed and cleaned and the trucks are rolling out. It's a kind of Jesus deal... we serve before, during and after the event and never, ever leave a soldier behind to mop up after us.

Step 1: Take a peak and choose a team

Preschool (ages 0-4)

There’s no baby sitting service here. Crafts, games, play, stories and songs that the littlies can enjoy while learning more about God.

The cost? $50. This contributes towards admin and team hospitality costs (dinner Wednesday night; breakfast and lunch from Thursday morning).

To apply to be on any team everyone must register for the festival, complete a team application form, including a church reference, and read the New Wine policy document. You’ll also need to fill in a police vetting form.

Kids Zone (school years 0-6)

Befriend, lead and encourage the children, get alongside them in small groups, pray with and for them, minister to them in the power of the Holy Spirit and encourage them to pray for each other.

Kei Tō Taha Support Zone

Our newly renamed support zone, Kei Tō Taha (“By Your Side” in Te Reo Māori), carries forward the spirit of what was previously known as ‘Our Place’. This team provides emotional and moral support, practical assistance, and a calm, reassuring presence for anyone who may find the festival environment overwhelming.

Do you have a heart for ministering to those with additional needs? New Wine offers many exciting and stimulating experiences, but for some, these can make participation challenging. As part of Kei Tō Taha, you’ll help people of all ages engage with the festival as fully as possible, either alongside their peers or in quieter spaces with reduced stimulation, supporting them and their families to connect with others who understand their journey.

Prayer Ministry

It’s not a New Wine event without the opportunity for people to receive prayer ministry. You will be asked to attend a training session held late afternoon on the festival start day and team meetings that are held before each main session (8.15am and 5.45pm).

Stewards

Your day could involve anything from directing traffic, to setting up venues, to patrolling the site or checking nametags. This is one of the most hands-on roles with lots of interaction with team and delegates. Smiling is essential!

New Wine has a #oneteam culture - we're have different zones but a one team approach when serving at festival. Team set up day on Wednesday is a key part of service where many hands make the workload lighter for everyone. Aim to arrive on Wednesday morning between 9am and 10am to either help in your zone or to assist in other tasks around the site.
