Wairarapa College Camper

It’s nearly festival time! We can’t wait to finally welcome you on site. Please read the
following information to make sure you are best prepared for your stay during the festival.

Arrival and Check-in

  • Before heading to the camp site you must check-in with New Wine at Wairarapa
College. The New Wine check-in area is open in the Pavilion from midday Thursday
and will relocate from 7.30pm to the back of Meeting Place.
Please note for New Wine purposes entrance to the college is via Corn
wall Street. Check the directions linked here, and also the festival site map.
  • At check-in you will receive your village allocation. Please be aware these have been carefully allocated and follow the guidance of the stewards and admin.

Camping Specifics

  • Power: The site has very limited power, so we are trying our upmost to provide solutions. Campers, caravans and campervans are being organised into villages and the limited power supply we have is being spread as far as we can. For this reason we are having to limit the power supply to tents only, not caravans(which may be alongside your village, just not connected to the grid).
  • Food: We are aware this may not be ideal, so the solutions we can provide are as follows:
    – Chiller trailers can be plugged in via classrooms. The stewards will be able to direct you.
    – Campers kitchen and Poto House dining room has toasters, jugs and fridges (limited).
    – The Pavilion will be available to plug in fridges, toasters and kettles.
  • Toilets and Showers: All night toilets are marked in yellow on the map.
  • No Wheels on Fields: During the festival the Wairarapa College rule is – NO WHEELSON THE FIELD. The only exception to this will be Thursday 19th until 6.30pm to setup and Monday 23rd from 12.30pm onwards to pack down.
  • Parking: The car park will be clearly signposted as you enter the site.

Camper Etiquette

  • Remember the fridges are communal but limited. Please label all food, and remember to remove it and give a quick wipe of the fridges when you leave.
  • No smoking or vaping anywhere on premises.
  • No animals.
  • Noise levels are to remain at a respectful level, and quietbetween the hours of10pm and 7am.

FAQs

Can I have my tent and Caravan together? Yes! Churches with both tents and caravans/campervans have been allocated to villages that can facilitate this by parking caravans on the road beside the field.

Can I keep my car with my caravan/ campervan? No. Caravans need to be disconnected from their towing vehicles which needs to be relocated into the carpark.

There are other people from my church going, can we camp together? Yes! We assign villages by church groups. If you made specific requests on your registration, our admin team will be aware of this and are working on it! If there are any issues in accommodating these requests, we will be in contact with you directly.

Where is the water access? There are water taps on the camping field.
