A paraplegic shower and toilet is available on site.
Are there laundry facilities?
Sorry no, but there’s the beach nearby. If you need a bit of sophistication though there’s a laundrette in Warkworth.
Where do I pitch my tent?
We’ll have Village Hosts on hand to help you with this. We’re all about relationship so we’ll ensure you’re with other cool cats. In terms of proximity the tenting site is part of the overall festival venue, hardly a stones throw away.
Will tent sites be additional cost?
You get a free tent site as part of your registration. It doesn’t matter if you camp on site or a take a holiday home off-site, the New Wine cost is the same.
What about parking?
There’s plenty of parking either as day visitors in the carparks by the main entrance, or near the tent sites. The stewards will direct the way on your arrival.
What about my kit, will it be safe?
Responsibility for your possessions rests with you. We suggest leaving valuables at home, however if you just can’t be without them use your car to lock valuables away or keep them on you.
There’s stuff happening all over the site during the afternoon and evening. In the afternoon look out for workshops, old fashion games, giant water slides and loads more. Keep watching this space but don’t forget the nearby beaches, shops, cafes and water hole.
There’s a great range of speakers, do they cost much?
The speaking programme has both kiwi and international speakers – 60% kiwi and 40% international in the adult programme. In any one year we can have more than 20 speakers at an event across all age programmes and workshops. The mix is a real blessing. They bring their best in the hope that what we take away will impact our lives and those we do life with.
All of that said they only comprise 9% of our total budget because they believe in the vision and give of themselves generously. That means from an adult ticket the speakers cost us less than $20, the rest of the cost is infrastructure, team and programme costs.
What cooking facilities are on site?
The site’s got a home ec room with loads of ovens, microwaves, sinks and dining tables. You bring your own pots and pans, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery and hey presto, you’ll be ready for action.
What fridge and freezer space is available?
We’ll all be sharing, and getting a feel for just how much is enough, but there’s fridges and freezers in the kitchen block for us to use. Your food is your responsibility.
What if I don’t want to cook?
If you’d rather not think about having to cook, that’s fine. There are supermarkets a 1km stroll away in Warkworth plus loads of other eateries.
Will food be at an additional cost?
Prices exclude food.
I don’t want to tent, or even caravan, what other options do I have?
This is Warkworth so there’s motels, hotels, private rentals through websites such as Book-a-bach and Holiday Homes. Check out some of what’s on offer here.
If you’ve got space in a rented house, why not let our registrar know and he might be able to connect you to others.
What areas do you need help in?
The team is a fantastic group of people who long to work together to see something achieved that couldn’t be done from a single local church, or even a single denomination. We’ve always dreaming and scheming to make things easier and fun. That means the teams evolve and change. It’s likely we need help with stewarding, admin, programme teams, hospitality, not to mention afternoon fun and games…the list goes on.
