Our lives are so full, but sometimes we need to take one day out to draw close to God again. Join us on Saturday 22 June to consider how we live well in this complex age.
OUR PRESENTER – KARL MARTIN
You’ll remember Karl from the New Wine summer festival, and his books Lead and Stand. We also know him as the Senior Pastor of a church with a big vision, Central Church in Edinburgh, and founder of Cairn, a movement of mission and discipleship, involved in training and building relationships with churches across the Celtic nations. Karl is passionate about equipping, encouraging and releasing individuals in leadership, which is why we’re bringing him to New Zealand in June.
SATURDAY 22 JUNE TOPIC OVERVIEW
Living so Everyone Wins Recalibrate The 21st Century Christ Follower
During the day with Karl we’ll cover; 1. Living So Everyone Wins. There is transformation work God is still trying to do in us for the work he wants to do through us. Karl will take us through the lessons he would tell his 20-year-old self, including identifying what we carry, working through the stuff we need to let go, and learning to live in a way where everyone wins. In this session Karl will help us see we are our first project, and lead us through a discipleship journey.
2. Recalibrate. Celtic rhythms sustained a people and influenced the world for hundreds of years. Together we will learn some of these rhythms, and take opportunity to pause and be restored, to press in and be reminded of what he has made us for. This session will see us re-envisioned for the path ahead and recalibrated around God’s unique design for our life.
3. The 21stCentury Christ Follower. What defines us as Christian in a 21stcentury world? This session will consider the crisis we’re facing as terrorism, legislation, and public opinion work against the foundations our faith is formed on. We’ll consider unity and tolerance, free speech and voices of influence, extremism and other labels, and how we navigate the life God calls us to.
